THE Trinidad and Tobago Govt has reacted sharply
to the comments of Frech President Sarkozy describing it as tax haven. Trinidad
has called it as 'premature and improper'.
The Trinidad Finance Minister is reported to have said that
his Govt has contacted the local French embassy to clarify on what was the
intention behind the French President's statement given immediately after
the closure of the G20 Summit.
Such a reaction is not unique as 10 others who have been
shortlisted by the OECD, have also reacted strongly against the expression
'tax haven' being used to describe them.
