WITH Russia gaining full-fledged membership of WTO, it has paved the
way for its joining the OECD by 1012-end.
The
Deputy Head of the Ministry's Trade Negotiations Department reportedly said,
''Completing the WTO negotiations will undoubtedly push the process of
joining the OECD forward."
"We can finish this process in 2012," he told
mediapersons.
For Russia to become a full-fledged OECD member, a
nod from OECD's all 34 Members is required but the timeline for such a decision
depends on how fast Russia meets all the conditions of the OECD.
