THE global IT giant Apple has lost its Trade Mark-related battle for
iPad in China. The California-based technology company is now reported to be
left with only two options - either pay compensation to its Chinese rival or opt
for a new name for its tablet computer.
Apple
had sued HK-listed Proview Technology for alleged Trade Mark infringement.
Proview registered the trademark named IPAD in the EU, China, Mexico and
Singapore between 2000 and 2004, much before Apple opted for this
name.
