A revised Double Taxation Avoidance Agreement (DTAA) between India and Nepal
will be signed tomorrow by the Finance Ministers of both the countries in
Kathmandu. This would replace the earlier agreement which was signed way back in
1987. The Union Finance Minister Shri Pranab Mukherjee will be visiting Nepal on
a day’s visit tomorrow at the invitation of the Finance Minister of Nepal Shri
Barshaman Pun ‘Ananta’. During his visit, the Finance Minister Shri Mukherjee
will also call on the Rt Hon’ble President and Rt Hon’ble Prime Minister of
Nepal. During the visit, the two Finance Ministers will also exchange views on
the further development of bilateral relations and review the progress on
implementation of the action plan agreed upon during the last visit of the Prime
Minister of Nepal to India on October 21, 2011.
