INDIA has decided to sensitise the Indonesian
Govt, which has recently decided to impose taxes on exports of coal. India
fears that such taxes would augment the costs of power projects in India.
Indonesia
has also proposed to stop export of certain grades of coal, which would
hurt India's interests. In recent months, the import price of coal has
already jumped manifold, which has made many power projects unviable.
It
is expected that India would soon launch a displomatic drive through MEA
to earn more friendly price from Indonesia.
