TAX Commissioners from around the world are expected to meet at Buenos
Aires next week for the 7th meeting of the Forum on Tax Administration(FTA) on
the 18th and19th of January 2012. The FTA, established in the year 2002, gathers
tax Commissioners from 43 OECD and non-OECD countries, including every member of
the G20.
The
forum identifies, discusses and influences relevant global trends and develops
new ideas to enhance tax administration around the world. The agenda for the
meeting in Buenos Aires shall focus on challenges facing tax administrations
today, including how to work most effectively with large businesses, and how to
improve the efficiency of tax administrations and offshore compliance. The FTA
will issue a communiqué setting out the results of its meeting when it concludes
on the 19th of January.
