THE EC has reportedly formally urged Belgium to amend its regional and federal laws on personal income tax that discriminate against foreign taxpayers whose income is entirely earned in Belgium. The Commission has also called for changes in the laws, which grant tax credit for local taxpayers whose annual income does not exceed USD 25038, but which discriminate against non-residents. Such a law violates the EU rules by curbing free movement of workers.
