GOING by the hectic parleys Hong Kong may appear to be on a spree to sign DTAAs, but Singapore remains the Asian queen, smarting with about 70 DTAAs, three times that of Hong Kong.

So far, about 3000 DTAAs are in place across the globe, with a little more than 100 added each passing year. DTAAs have been instrumental in encouraging cross-border investment, and Singapore attracts a major chunk of investments made in Asia.
