MAKING a beginning with Sweden way back in 1963 when Thailand had signed its first DTAA, it has now 64 such tax treaties in place. In March this year it got parliamentary approval for as many as NINE more treaties. At present its focus is on signing treaties with ASEAN countries.

With the DTAAs with eight countries in ASEAN coming into force, Thaniland intends to wrap up its treaty talks with Cambodia and then to non-Asean Economic Community.
