AMONG various future measures to unearth
black money, the 'White Paper on Black Money' has also touched upon the
prospects of exploring an UK-Switzerland type of treaty where India collects
taxes vide Swiss Govt without knowing the idenity of account holders.
The
Swiss authorities have signed similar tax pacts with Germany and Austria.
The White Paper notes that though it is a revenue-sharing model but the
Govt needs to assess the cost of such a relationaship where the identity
of the tax evaders is not disclosed.
