THE well known tax haven Bahamas is mulling to modernise the tax code to step up revenue collections. The Progressive Liberal Party has stated that it may go for a value-added tax or levying fees on certain services. The party came into power earlier this month. It is reported that the debt burden of the economy has grown to 53% of the GDP from 31% in 2007.
