THE CBDT is gearing up to welcome a team of senior revenue
officials from Singapore, who are going to visit New Delhi and exchange
information relating to certain suspected tax evaders. India has already sent a
list of tax evaders to Singapore authorities, seeking information relating to
some illegal transactions.
In
this regard, both the countries are going to develop an understanding for
bilateral financial enforcement cooperation. During their visit, CBDT is also
likely to hand over some classified list of suspected tax evaders, and also work
out a bilateral mechanism to strengthen financial enforcement
measures.
