ONE of the most infamous tax havens
in Europe, Liechtenstein is trying to shade its traditional image by signing
a withholding tax pact with Germany. It also intends to provide for an
automatic exchange of tax information.
The
proposed agreement is expected to be based on the model concluded between
Germany and Switzerland. Such a pact may end the bad blood between the
two countries over the untaxed black money held by Germans in Liechtenstein
banks.
