AN Independent Study has arrived at
some of the most interesting findings, which may sound music to the ears of
the HMRC. As per the Study, apart from hundreds of high-profiel tax dodgers,
there are many who do no hide their income and have never headed for some of
the islands like Monaco and Bahamas.
The
study reveals
that a surprising mix of investment gurus, financial wizards, and property
and insurance bosses are some of the wealthiest "customers" of
HMRC's "Affluence Unit". The star taxpayers' list is based on visible
earnings at Companies House,
in the annual reports and accounts of publicly quoted and privately held companies.
Danny Alexander, the Chief Secretary to the Treasury,
recently said that the research has shown that the majority of people in the
UK "paid
their fair share". He added: "This
proves you can play by the rules and be successful in business without resorting
to tax dodging or moving your money overseas."
