OECD and the Ministry of Statistics and Programme, Govt of
India, is going to organise an event in New Delhi from October 16-19 on how to
improve the ways to measure well being and also the methods to make Govt
policies more effective and accountable. This event aims at improving the
construction and dissemination of key social, economic and environmental
indicators.
The
sessions will cover a broad range of themes: from inequality to urban
development, from empowering women to environmental sustainability.

Forum will construct a vital contribution to ongoing work by the OECD, other
international organisations and national statistics agencies are looking forward
to go “beyond GDP” as the key measure of growth and to identify the role those
other key indicators can play in underpinning democracy and effective government
policy-making.
