HAS FEMA violation come down as compared to last year? It is difficult to conclude but as per the latest data provided by the MoS(R) in the Parliament, the number of residents and non-residents who have applied to the RBI for compounding of contraventions is down to 478 this year as compared to 581 last year. A similar trend can be seen if one analyses the number of show cause notices issued for alleged violation of PMLA. As compared to last year, the number has declined from 31 to 23.
