THE European Union's Executive yesterday called for stepping up drive against tax havens and cracking down on tax avoidance within the EU members' community. The EU has come out with a 30-point "action plan" against growing tax avoidance to ensure that all individuals and corporate contribute to revenue mop-up efforts. As per EU Commissioner for Taxation, EU loses about 1.31 trillion on account of tax evasion and avoidance per year.
