DTAA amended; Protocol signed today

DELHI, AUG 30, 2010: REPUBLIC of
India and Swiss Federal Council today signed a Protocol amending the
existing Double Taxation Avoidance Agreement here in New Delhi.
The
Signing ceremony was held at the Ministry of Finance, North Block.
The protocol was signed for the Republic of India by Mr Pranab Mukherjee,
Finance Minister while for the Swiss Federal Council,the same was signed by Foreign Minister, Ms.
Micheline Calmy-Rey signed . Mr Ashok Chawla, Finance
Secretary, Mr Sunil Mitra, Revenue Secretary, Dr. Kaushik Basu, Chief
Economic Advisor and Ambassador Philippe Welti, Ambassador
George Marlin, among others, were present on the occasion.
