| A one day training program for provident fund
officials to handle and test the newly developed application software, for issue
of certificates of coverage by the regional field offices was organised in Dwarka,
New Delhi on July 29, 2013.
The
new application software will enable issue of the certificates of
coverage, by the field offices, which were earlier issued by the
Provident Fund Head office. The software was developed by the National
Data Centre in Dwarka.
Under
the detachment provisions contained in the Social Security Agreements
entered into by the Government of India with various countries, Indian
employees posted to another country having SSA with India are exempted
from making contributions in that country up to a certain period, if
they contribute towards a social security programme in India. For this
purpose, a Certificate of Coverage is issued by the Employees Provident
Fund Office. The Head Office handled the issue of these certificates in a
centralised manner. Now, these certificates will be issued by the field
offices instead of the Head Office. A software to enable the issue of
the COC's was developed and is on trial at the head office.
To
test the software and train the officials from the field offices, a one
day training programme was organised at the National Data Centre,
Dwarka.
