THE
Bilateral Investment Agreement discussion with United States
of America started on August 11-13, 2009 and as of now three rounds have
been held on various elements of Bilateral Investment Treaty text of
USA.
The recent visit of a high level delegation led by Commerce &
Industry Minister to US has helped to reinvigorate the dialogue between
both the countries. Both sides have agreed to convene next meeting of
the India-US Trade Policy Forum, a bilateral mechanism to resolve and
expand bilateral trade and investment relations, in this year in India.
The information was given by the Minister of State in the Ministry of Commerce
and Industry Dr. D. Purandeswari in a written reply in the Lok Sabha yesterday.
