INDIA has signed Bilateral Agreements/ Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs)
on labour with Qatar, United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Oman, Bahrain and Malaysia.
Answering
a question in Rajya Sabha yesterday, Minister for Overseas Indian Affairs,
Mr Vayalar Ravi, said, MoUs are implemented through the Joint Working Groups
(JWG)) constituted for such purpose. The MoUs also provide the basis on which
the Indian Missions abroad take up issues with the host country on a continuous
basis and the joint Working Group (JWG) serves as a mechanism of reviewing
the MoUs.
