THE OECD Secretary-General Angel Gurría and Indian Finance Minister
Pranab Mukherjee will discuss current and future co-operation between the OECD
and India in New Delhi on Monday.
Both
will brief the media about the continuing dialogue between
the OECD and India on economic policies aimed at achieving socially responsible
growth, poverty reduction and development. Mr Gurría and Mr Mukherjee will also
discuss continuing co-operation on tax matters, anti-corruption initiatives and
governance issues.
The briefing will follow Mr. Gurría’s opening address
of a high-level tax seminar meant exclusively for CBDT officials.
Mr
Gurría will be joined by Mr. Mukherjee and Sunil Mitra, Finance Secretary and
Secretary, Department of Revenue, during the opening panel of the two-day
seminar, “Adapting Tax Systems and International Tax Rules to the New Global
Environment: A Shared Challenge for India and the OECD.”
