WHILE replying to a question in the Lok Sabha today,
the Minister
of State in the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, Mr R.P.N. Singh, said that as
many as 820 non-resident companies have registered themselves with the Registrar
of Companies in the past three years. And, they have contributed Rs 7 Cr, Rs
9.5 Cr and Rs 8 Crore respectively to the Govt's coffers by way of registration
charges.
Among
the States, Delhi tops the table with 1521 foreign companies registering
in the last three years. Maharashtra with 744 and Karnataka with 248 are
ranked second and third. Tamil Nanu and Haryana are two other States which
bagged registration of non-resident companies numbering 187 and 179 respectively.
