THE list of economies not willing to wait for BEPS final report and joining the growing bandwagon opting for digital tax seems to be growing every month. The latest to unfold its intention to impose digital tax is Turkey. Its Treasury has issued draft law introducing a digital services tax.
Experts say that the Turkey's new tax is very similar to the EU's digital tax model. It is going to be applicable to all such taxpayers who have revenue above 3.1 mn Euros and 750 mn Euros or more in consolidated group income.
The proposal is to levy 7.5% tax on gross revenue from sales in Turkey. It is much higher than 2% in UK and 3% in France. |
