NEW DELHI is all set to host the 7th Regional Anti-corruption
Initiative of the ADB/OECD for Asia and the Pacific tomorrow. The Conference is
aimed at building multi-disciplinary frameworks to combat corruption. President
of India Pratibha Devisingh Patil will inaugurate the
Conference.
The
need for multidisciplinary frameworks for combating corruption is also reflected
in prevailing international standards, such as the United Nations Convention
against Corruption (UNCAC), and the OECD Anti-Bribery Convention and other OECD
instruments. These instruments address the problem from every angle – prevention
in the public and private sectors, detection and law enforcement. The ADB/OECD
Anti-Corruption Initiative for Asia and the Pacific, and the Government of
India, have organized this conference to help governments, businesses and
citizens in Asia-Pacific find holistic approaches to the corruption
problem.
